The Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet has written to Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Treasury, Ramathan Ggoobi to immediately reinstate, Ms Geraldine Ssali Busuluwa as Accounting Officer, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives.
Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye’s letter dated 26th October is a follow up on President Museveni’s letter of 22nd October 2023 directing the re-instatement of Ssali.
Ngoobi had in an October 3rd letter directed the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives to nominate another person to care-take as accounting officer.
This was in response to a parliamentary probe into the utilization of supplementary funds of FY 2021/22 where Ssali is alleged to have superintended over misuse of the said release.
Hardly before end of month, Ssali is now being ordered back to office at the instruction of President Museveni.
