JUST IN: Kenyan President Appoints New High Commissioner to Uganda

Kenyan President Ruto, Samoei William Ruto has made new appointments to the Foreign Service with Kampala, Uganda getting two new faces.

 

In a Presidential press release dated 8th March, 2024, President Ruto has among other nominations appointed Hon. Joash Arthur Maangi, High Commissioner to Uganda. He will be deputized by Mr. Suleiman Ibrahim Roba.

 

The duo will be replacing H.E. Maj. Gen. (Rtd) George Aggrey Owino and Ms. Salome M. Kagosha as High Commissioner and deputy respectively.

 

Owino has been High Commissioner to Uganda since 23rd August 2022.

 

The Presidential nominees who are yet to get Parliamentary approval include Ms Catherine Kirumba Karemu who is to be posted to London as the High Commissioner, Hon. Fred Outa as Ambassador to Egypt, Ms Jessica Muthoni Gakinya, and Ambassador to Rabbat, Morocco.

 

Other High Commissioners are; Hon. Lillian Tomitom ( Lusaka, Zambia), Hon. Vincent Mogaka Kemosi (Accra Ghana), Ms Caroline Kamende Daudi ( Ottawa, Canada) and Lt. Gen. Peter Mbogo Njiru ( Islamabad, Pakistan).
