Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has released a statement regarding the numerous complaints raised about the ongoing recruitment process of Enumeration Supervisors and Enumerators for Census 2024.
The statement is in response to nationwide complaints that qualified applicants were not shortlisted and yet the unqualified got into the shortlist.
The second complaint is that there are people masquerading as UBOS recruitment team asking for Shs100,000 for applicants to be able to participate in the interview process.
Lastly, that there is a fake online advert circulating on Social Media about Census recruitment in the form of (https://adhoc.ugcensus.infogov.sit/).
In order to address the above, UBOS has decided to extend the display of shortlisted applicants until 12th April such that those qualified applicants who were left out can be considered. Further, the aim is to weed out those who could have been shortlisted and yet don’t meet the minimum requirements.
“Those with issues regarding recruitment should lodge their complaints with the recruitment team at the district who are working closely with UBOS Human Resource Team for review,” says the statement.
UBOS also says no applicant is required to pay the Shs100,000 and whoever asks for such money should be reported to the nearest police station.
Finally, UBOS says their recruitment portal closed on the 22nd March, 2024 and therefore there is no more receiving of applications for the Enumeration Supervisors and Enumerators.
