UPDATE: UNRA Speaks Out On Restoration Works on Busega-Budo Rd Section that Sunk In

Uganda National Roads Authority has revealed that its team is working around the clock to restore the Busega—Budo road section along Kampala—Masaka Highway that sunk in on Sunday, 21st April, 2024.

 

In a brief statement on X formerly, Twitter, today 22nd April, 2024, UNRA says restoration efforts are currently in progress at the road section that gave in as a result of heavy rains.

 

The restoration works according to UNRA will be complete by Wednesday, 24th April and the road shall be opened to normal traffic.

 

Currently, Police has given alternative routes as follows; Motorists from Kampala to Masaka to use Nakawuka road to Budo junction or Kitemu to access Kampala – Masaka Highway.

Alternatively, motorists can use Mityana road to Buloba to Nsangi to access Kampala – Masaka Highway.

 

Motorists from Masaka can access Kampala via Kitemu or Budo to Nakawuka or Nsangi to Buloba to Mityana.
