Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has given a deadline for the waiver on payment of outstanding penalties resulting from failure to issue e-receipts and e-invoices (EFRIS Receipts and invoices).
In a statement issued today, 22nd May, 2024, URA says it is inviting all traders with the outstanding penalties to visit their offices AT URA Headquarters, Main Tower Sendaula Hall from Monday the 27th of May 2024 till the 31st of May 2024.

“During the above week, URA will waive EFRIS penalties that primarily impacted traders from Kikuubo and the Central Business District (CBD) who were new to the EFRIS technology,” says the statement.
URA will also provide taxpayers who have insufficient understanding of the new EFRIS System with relevant knowledge for compliance going forward.
Traders from other districts are advised to visit the nearest URA Regional offices for similar services. After 31st May, 2024, the waiver will lapse.
URA encourages all business people using EFRIS to continue complying with all EFRIS laws and regulations.
