MBALE CITY

MTN Uganda has officially launched the Momo promotion program in the eastern region.

The launch was organized at different business premises here in Mbale City on Thursday, 17th October, 2024 with customers being taught how to buy merchandises using digital money on their phones using MTN network through the MTN Momo program.

Jimmy Ezaraza, the MTN Momo Marketing Manager, says that the main launch was in Kampala and Thursday’s exercise in Mbale City was an extension of the launch that is taking place in all regions across the country.

He says that MTN came up with this Momo program with the aim of fighting theft of business people’s money.

Ezaraza says that business people have been carrying money in their hands to go and buy items and have ended up being robbed by thugs which this program aims to avoid.

Morris Masaba and Joel Masiro all Boda Boda riders operating in Mbale city who won different prizes after buying fuel for their motorcycles at different petrol stations expressed their happiness with the program saying this is going to reduce the risk of carrying money in cash.

They say that even their clients are going to be paying them money through the Momo system but urged the public to embrace the Momo program and use it such that they can reduce risks of carrying large volumes of Cash.
