MITYANA
The Mityana Deputy Resident District Commissioner (D/RDC), Prossy Mwanjuzi has expressed fear for her life following the release of suspects she accuses of burning her vehicle and attempting to kill her.
According to Mwanjuzi, she was attacked on 1st June 2023 by unknown assailants at her home but when they failed to get her, they opted to burn her vehicle and left it in ashes.
This made her to hold a thanksgiving mass on June 30, 2024, where she praised the Almighty for enabling her survive a brush with death.
Mwanjuzi is a strong vocalist of pro – NRM initiatives, and a proud young muzukulu who decided to sacrifice the whole of her life to serve her boss, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Since then, Mityana people have been crying to President Museveni to equip his hardworking ‘daughter’ Mwanjuzi with a brand new swanky ride and tighten her security. Now, as they were still praying for that, they got news that the suspects who were behind this attack were released after Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Hon. Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo withdrew the charges and closed the file.
The residents accuse senior NRM leaders in Mityana District of conniving with some officers in DPP’s office to play the games.
It is alleged that one of the NRM leaders got involved in these matters to protect his friend, a land broker known as Abdallah who is also alleged to be behind this deadly scandal.
Some of the locals say the two NRM Bigwigs are behind the release of Deo Kyaaze who has been on remand since June. This suspect is accused of being behind the deadly attack against Mwanjuzi.
However, the residents have since wondered if justice can be denied to an RDC, a top government officer what about a local Wanainchi deep in villages.
