The Police at Old Kampala are holding a suspect identified as Tumwine David alias Busoni, a 40-year-old male resident of Mubuteraniro Village, Mubende District, for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
The recovered items include: A sub-machine gun (SMG), live rounds of ammunition, magazines, pangas, a bottle of petrol and ropes.
The suspect was intercepted today, 4th November 2024, at a round 9:00AM at the Kisenyi Bus Terminal in Kampala Central Division.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Spokesperson, Tumwiine was intercepted during a search by the terminal’s security team.
The terminal’s security team promptly pursued and apprehended him. Upon inspecting his bags, the aforementioned items were discovered. The Police were immediately notified, and the suspect is now in custody at Old Kampala Police Station.
“We commend the vigilance exhibited by the security personnel at Kisenyi Bus Terminal,” says the police statement.
