Police has issued a stern warning to Citizens who celebrate the advent of a new year by burning tyres on tarmac roads and firing bullet shots, (for those who own fire arms).
The warning was issued by the Police Spokesperson, ACP Rusoke Kituuma today, 31st December, 2024 as the year comes to a close.
Rusoke says the burning of tyres especially on tarmac destroys asphalt on roads, warning that those caught will be arrested.
“When you put these tyres on asphalt, it melts. So those ones we shall arrest them,” he says.
He also warns those who own fire arms and shoot in the air in the form of celebration that it is illegal and punishable.
