A 24 year old man who was having an extra-marital affair with another man’s wife has been arrested for killing by stabbing the woman’s husband.
Erebu Robert, aged 24 years, a peasant and resident of Amutu village, Katine Sub County in Soroti district committed the atrocity on Thursday, 2nd January, 2025 at around 4:00AM.
According to the East Kyoga Regional Police Commander, Damalie Nachuha, the deceased is Peter Okwi alias Okwir aged 22 years old, a peasant and resident of Ogavana trading center in Agora village, Ogwolo parish, Katine Sub county in Soroti district.
She says the deceased had gone to his mother-in-law’s home at Ojiji village, Ogwolo parish, Katine Sub County in Soroti District to follow up on his wife who had fled her marital home.
Unfortunately, Okwi found Erebu seated with his wife, Kevin Arebo aged 18, which infuriated him leading into a fight.
The suspect stabbed the deceased twice in the stomach. Okwii managed to run to the home of his brother in-law, a one Egwau Raymond and fell in front of the house with blood oozing from the stabbed wounds.
When Egwau heard him crying for help, he came out and saw him lying in a pool of blood and informed neighbors who immediately responded to the scene. Later Egwau ran to Olwelai police post and reported the matter.
Erebu and Arebo have been arrested and are currently detained in Soroti Central Police Station while the body of the deceased was conveyed to Nakatunya City mortuary pending postmortem.
