Bukedea Central Police Station is still stuck with a one year old girl that was abandoned at the station by another minor, 12 year old girl on 14th January, 2025.
Two weeks down the road, no one has come out to claim the baby prompting the office of the probation officer in Bukedea District to hand over the baby girl to an orphanage.
On 14th, Jan 2025, a 12 year old girl left the baby and disappeared with a police officer’s cell phone after she was given a room for the night before appearing to the child and family protection unit.
Charles Asupo, the Bukedea Probation Officer says the relatives of the baby have not yet been identified.
He said his office will now handover the baby to the orphanage home.
However, the baby is still under police control as for now.
