Chief of Defence Forces Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has promoted Brigadier General Felix Kulayigye to the rank of Acting Major General.
According to Col. Deo Akiiki, the Deputy Director Defence Public Information, Kulayigye who currently heads the directorate of Defence Public Information has been promoted in recognition of his, ‘excellent long service and representation of UPDF in the public domain.”
“The Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs and indeed the UPDF family congratulates the General Officer for the promotion well deserved,” reads Akiiki’s statement dated Tuesday, 28th January, 2025.
This promotion when confirmed places Kulayigye a rank away from General Museveni, the next rank being Lieutenant General (three star).
The appointment has however, left tongues wagging with many Social Media critics wondering why such an appointment has not been made by the Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces and why it has to be in Acting.
