NAMISINDWA

A dramatic scene unfolded today Monday, 3rd February, 2025 at Wabwala Secondary School in Bukhabusi Sub-County, Namisindwa, when David Matenge, the LCIII Chairperson, attempted to stop a political meeting convened by Hudson Mukhwana, the Bukhabusi Sub-County NRM Chairperson.

The meeting, attended by stakeholders, NRM supporters from Buwatuwa and Bukhabusi sub-counties, and MP aspirants from the two sub-counties, was aimed to brainstorm and declare a single candidate for the Namisindwa County MP seat.

Hudson Mukhwana explained that the Bukhabusi region has seven candidates vying for the NRM primaries, including Christopher Nabende, Rogers Kutosi Khabusi, and Apollo Masika among others.

Despite informing security leaders, the LCIII Chairperson unexpectedly arrived and ordered the meeting to stop, citing unknown reasons.

However, the meeting continued, and attendees resolved to support Rogers Kutosi Khabusi as the sole candidate from the greater Bukhabusi region. Khabusi expressed his gratitude and readiness to contest.

Apollo Masika, the incumbent MP, dismissed the resolution, stating that Hudson Mukhwana had no authority to organize the meeting. Masika sees no issue with multiple candidates from the same region, emphasizing that voters will ultimately decide.
