The Uganda National Institute for Teacher Education (UNITE) has launched its inaugural intake for diploma and degree programs in teacher education across its six campuses, formerly known as National Teachers Colleges (NTCs).
The campuses include Kaliro, Kabale, Muni, Shimoni, Mubende, and Unyama.
In a statement issued today, Wednesday, 15th May, UNITE says applicants seeking enrollment at these campuses are required to hold a certificate and must have completed Senior Six.
The available degree programs include the Bachelor of Education in Pre-Primary, Bachelor of Education in Secondary Science, and Bachelor of Education in Secondary Arts.
These programs have been approved by NICHE, and the facilities have been evaluated and deemed suitable for offering both degree and diploma courses.
According to Dr. Levi Kabagambe, Institute Secretary of UNITE, the campuses will focus exclusively on teacher education programs, offering both two-year diplomas and three-year degree courses.
The Uganda National Institute for Teacher Education (UNITE) is a dedicated higher education institution focused on teacher education at all levels.
It was established on July 5, 2024, through Statutory Instrument No. 53 of 2024, and operates under the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, Cap 262, as an institution authorized to award degrees.
