MBALE CITY

The FDC deputy president for Eastern Uganda, Hon Wokuri Margaret Madanda and other Forum For Democratic Change Party (FDC) party members have picked nomination forms to contest for different positions in the party.
Hon Wokuri, a teacher and journalist who is aspiring for the position of Mbale City Industrial Division Constituency MP in the coming general elections, picked the forms on Monday, 16th June, 2025.
After picking nomination forms, she launched her manifesto where she named her 10-points agenda that she believes will guide her in her bid to empower and develop the people of Industrial City Division.
Amongst her 10 points include, quality legislation, work with teachers, clean water, sports, set industrial development, set up funds for skill development etc.
Others who picked nomination forms included the former Deputy Mayor for Mbale city, Harriet Kakai who is aspiring candidate for Mbale city woman MP.
Kakai has cited two major issues that have inspired her to represent the women of Mbale city in parliament which are; Health and the Education sector which she vows to add her voice on for the better of the region.
Wamboga Francis Madoi, the party registrar in Mbale city, has confirmed that they have so far covered 80% of the nominations of all electoral areas in Mbale. The exercise is ongoing at the party Offices in Malukhu for two days from the 16th to 17th June for the nomination of Division and city Mayors and members of parliament.
