One person has been confirmed dead while four others are in critical conditions after a fatal accident that occurred early Monday morning, 21st July, 2025 along Katosi-Nyenga road.
According to traffic police, the accident happened at 1.30 am in Katovu, Ngongwe involving a Scania bus number UA 354AN belonging to Gateway company.
The bus was from Kampala heading to Soroti via the Katosi route.
According to police, the front tyre bust causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, making the bus overturn on its right side.
According to Michael Kananura, the police traffic spokesperson, the driver died on spot while four passengers were rushed to Nkonkojeru health center 4 and Kawolo hospital for treatment.
He adds that body of the driver has been taken to Kawolo hospital mortuary for postmortem but the bus is at Ngongwe police station as Investigations continue.
