Police Name 13 Passengers Injured in Tuesday Busia Fatal Accident

Police have named all 13 passengers who sustained serious injuries during the Busia road accident.

 

The road accident occurred on July 29, 2025, at approximately 6:40 AM, near Amungura Bridge along the Busia-Tororo Road. A Toyota Hiace vehicle, registration number UA 889AM, traveling from Kampala to Tororo, lost control after hitting a pedestrian, Okedi Raymond, a 75-year-old resident of Amungura Village. The vehicle then veered off the road and plunged into the Malaba River, resulting in four fatalities and 13 serious injuries.

 

According to Moses Mugwe, the Bukedi South police spokesperson, the injured victims are John Onyango 31 year old, Peter Owore 26, Michael Onyango 42 Tororo, Wilson Opendi 45 Tororo, Scovia Adikin Tororo, Rosemary Achieng 29, and Patricia Nyakeyo 29, all residents of Tororo district.

 

Others are; Mary Anyango 39 years of age from Mbuya in Kampala, Grace Analu 15 years of age from Kampala, Alex Odio a resident of Butaleja, Godfrey Rumo 19 year old from Tororo, Peter Owore 21 years from Tororo Musa Muhamed 3 years of age from Tororo.

 

He says they are getting treatment at Tororo hospital.
