Ronald Weanga, a resident of Bugema C Cell in Tsabanyanya Ward, Industrial Division, Mbale City, has withdrawn his petition against Michael Wakapisi following the NRM party election exercise held on 16th August 2025 for the position of Division Councillor.
In his withdrawal letter, received by the Mbale City NRM Election Tribunal through Vice Chairperson Neumbe Rebecca, representing Chairman Hajji Muzamiru Hirome, Weanga on Friday, 22nd August, 2025 stated that he took the decision for the good of the party and his people.
The tribunal, which also includes members Shaban Kachimete (Secretary), Abdu Magola (Publicity), Samali Abas, Sarah Wasike, Waboga Ali, Umar Waniaye, and Onen Kenneth, welcomed the decision.
Speaking to our reporter, Weanga confirmed his withdrawal and appealed to the tribunal to release the two Ward Registrars arrested over alleged mismanagement of the election.
Vice Chairperson Rebecca expressed gratitude to Weanga, praising him for his patriotism and selflessness.
She emphasized the tribunal’s transparency, noting that the arrested registrars were responsible for the irregularities and are currently detained at Mbale CPS.
She further urged Weanga to fully support Wakapisi in the forthcoming general elections.
Meanwhile, Tsabanyanya Ward LCII Chairperson Muzamiru Abas applauded Weanga for his humility and goodwill, saying his decision reflects true leadership and unity within Tsabanyanya and the NRM party.
