Prosecution told court that in October last year, Juma Musuuza, while in Wakiso district, using his tik tok account ‘Madubarah UG’ through a computer sent or shared information which is likely to ridicule, degrade or demean Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

“If Museveni hands over power to his drunkard son, the country will be destroyed within two days, let Ugandans pray for our country and ourselves” he posted on his TikTok account.

Prosecution also informed court that in the same month, the convict shared acidic information against Speaker Anita Among saying that : “Using tax payers’ money to build a mansion which is better than statehouse and buying bleaching jelly (chemicals) relating to Anita Among-the speaker of parliament.’

While convicting Musuuza, His worship Edgar Tibayeita said prosecution had adduced satisfactory evidence against the convict after close to one year of court proceedings.

Court relied on evidence produced by prosecution witnesses who include Fred Tumusiime, a liaison officer between the Special Forces Command (SFC) and Police, Detective Corporal Richard Tong and SP -Henry Kenneth Angura.

Afande Tumusiime Fred testified in court that upon seeing the said videos posted on a Tik Tok account Madubarah UG, he (Tumusiime) Perceived The Words Were Meant To Ridicule The President, First Son And Speaker Anitah Among. And it’s against this backdrop that he opened a case against Madubarah who was tracked and arrested by police detectives.

During the trial process, the convict’s defence Lawyers chose  not to give any evidence before court but questioned the jurisdiction of the court hearing their client’s case before asking the same  court to dismiss the case, which court objected.

Prior to convicting the convict the lead defence lawyer -Jonathan Elotu asked court for a lenient sentence.

“The convict is a family man, he is the sole breadwinner for his family. He is a first offender and he has spent close to 10 months on remand, he is a reformed man and I pray you give him a lenient sentence” Counsel Elotu pleaded for a lenient sentence to be given to his client.

When given chance to speak, Madubarah told court that he was seriously clobbered by merciless security personnel who almost plucked off his front tooth as they forced him to give them the password of his phone.

His worship Tibayeita informed court that he would consider the submission of both the state and defence team and that he will deliver the sentencing on Friday August 29,2025.
