MBALE CITY
Mogo Uganda, in partnership with Airtel Telecom, has officially launched smartphone loans in the Eastern Region, with Mbale City as the hub.
The initiative aims to expand access to digital services and solutions by connecting entrepreneurs to markets, students to knowledge, and families to each other.
The launch ceremony was presided over by Mbale Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr. Stanley Buyole, on Thursday at Mbale Courts View Hotel.
He emphasized the power of technology in driving growth, saying this program offers every Ugandan a chance to own a smartphone.
The event brought together Mogo Uganda partners including, Airtel Uganda, TECNO, Infinix and phone dealers from Soroti, Kumi, Serere, Bukedea, Sironko, Busia, Kapchorwa among others.
Douglas Kikonyogo the sales manager at Mogo Uganda said that, Customers can visit a partner shop, select the latest smartphone from TECNO, Infinix, or itel, and get a smartphone loan in less than 15 minutes. Payments are made in small daily installments without late charges.
“We are making smartphone ownership easier, faster & affordable for everyone and part of the broader financial digital inclusion drive and opportunity.” He added.
Requirements for a Smartphone Loan
Age between 20 and 65 years, Valid National ID, Active Airtel Mobile Money account and three emergency contacts.
