Ahamada Washakie, the Masaka Resident City Commissioner (RCC), has been transferred to Moroto district located in the Karamoja region.
The news of his transfer started circulating on social media on Sunday but was confirmed by Washakie himself in an exclusive interview today Monday, 22nd September, 2025.
Washakie was first appointed Manafwa District Resident District Commissioner then transferred to Mbale City as Resident City Commissioner and was later taken to Kumi District before going to Masaka city where he served till the latest transferto Moroto
According to Washakie, his transfer is a testament to his good service, which has earned him the trust of the Office of the President to serve in Moroto.
He expressed his happiness and readiness to continue serving the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government in his new role.
The distance between Masaka and Moroto is substantial, with a drive from Kampala to Moroto taking around 7 hours and 50 minutes, covering approximately 461 kilometers. Similarly, a drive from Entebbe Airport to Moroto would take about 8 hours and 20 minutes, spanning around 507.41 kilometers.
