The Electoral Commission has received the first batch of the 60,000 Biometric Voter Verification Kits (BVVK) to be used during the 2026 General Elections.
These kits were received by the EC Chairperson, Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon accompanied by other Commissioners on the night of Monday, 27th October, 2025 at Entebbe International Airport.
According to EC’s Spokesperson, Julius Mucunguzi, the kits which arrived in the country last night, will be used to biometrically verify each and every voter before being given a ballot paper, to ensure 100 percent principle of, ‘one man/woman, one vote” enhance the integrity and credibility of the elections.
The kits will be distributed to the 146 EC Regional centers across the country from where Election officials will be trained on their effective use.
