KAMPALA: New IGG Officially Assumes Office

The newly appointed Inspector General of Government, (IGG) has today, Monday, November 17, 2025 officially assumed office replacing Betty Kamya whose contract was not renewed by President Museveni.

 

Hon. Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala was warmly received by the Deputy Inspectors General of Government, Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria and Mrs. Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe, together with the Secretary to the Inspectorate of Government, Mrs. Rose N. Kafeero.

Justice Naluzze was on 9th November, 2025 sworn in by President Museveni at Mbale State Lodge together with her deputies. This follows the Parliamentary approval of the appointments made by the President in early October, 2025.

 

Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala informed the management team of IGG that her leadership rides on the three principles of Integrity, Professionalism and Teamwork. She made the remarks during her inaugural meeting with the team in the IGG boardroom. She noted that she is banking on teamwork to propel the institution forward as far the anti-corruption agenda is concerned. She thanked the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Museveni for trusting her to head the Inspectorate.
