KATAKWI
Police in Katakwi district are investigating the gruesome murder of a 27 year old DJ in Katakwi town council whose body was discovered with multiple deep cuts dumped in a swamp.
The victim, identified as Elungat Patrick is a resident of Aleles Magoro Southern Ward, Katakwi Town Council in Katakwi District.
The scene was visited by a team of homicide CI commanded by D/Aip Okello Peter.
According to Okello, the body of Elungat has been conveyed to Katakwi mortuary and case file on inquiries vide Katakwi CRB 633/2025 has been opened.
“We are investigating a murder where a male DJ was hacked to death. The motive is still unclear but we are hunting for the suspects,” he said.
Elungat’s body was found early Sunday morning 23-11-2025 at Western Ward Katakwi Town Council lying in a pool of blood with multiple injuries allegedly inflicted by sticks.
The discovery was made by children who went to dump a dead dog to the swamp and later called the chairman LCI of Angopet Cell, Katakwi Town Council, Katakwi District, Mr Ogele Gabriel Abuderi who then reported the matter to police. “I rushed to the scene and confirmed the presence of a lifeless body. I immediately notified the police,” Ogele said.
Hon Geoffrey Omolo, the chairman LCV Katakwi district cautions the public on taking the law into their own hands.
He urged them to cooperate with security in order to bring the suspects to book.
Meanwhile, Police have appealed to the community to share any information that could help identify the killers.
