Police has given the latest update on investigations regarding the 3rd May 2026 burglary and theft of Bank of Uganda Laptops from the Bank of Uganda offices along Kampala Road in Kampala.
Aording to a statement issued by KMP Deputy Spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyiere on Tuesday, 20th May, 2026, two additional suspects have been arrested bringing to four now under custody.
He says that following the earlier arrest of two suspects and the recovery of two of the stolen laptops, police conducted rigorous investigations which led to the arrest of two additional suspects.
“The additional arrests also led to the recovery of four more laptop computers,” says Luke adding that all six stolen laptops have now been recovered and are being held as exhibits.
He identifies the suspects as; Kule Boaz Michael, Kabuya Ramathan alias Rama, Lubangakene Isaac Izoo, and Oedo Jorem Jude
The suspects were expected to be arraigned before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 20th May 2026, upon completion of the necessary processes.
He reveals that the suspects will face charges of office breaking, theft, receiving stolen property, and retaining stolen property.
