KAMPALA
The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has completed the system upgrade works and routine maintenance at the Katosi Water Treatment Plant.
These works had left many areas in Mukono and Kampala without water supply for about two days.
Reacting to complaints from its customers in the affected areas, NWSC today, Saturday, May 23, 2026 says the water supply restoration is now at system recovery initiatives aimed at restoring water supply.
The works affected areas of Katosi, Kisoga, Mukono, Seeta, Mbalala, Namugongo, Namanve, Sonde, parts of Kireka, Kamuli, Kyaliwajala, Bulindo, Nsasa, Mulawa, Naalya, Ntinda, Kisaasi, Najeera, Luteete, Gayaza, parts of Kamwokya, parts of Mbuya, and the surrounding areas.
“NWSC water production and network engineers are charging the network with water, removing airlocks, and carrying out other system recovery initiatives aimed at restoring water supply,” reads the statement adding that it takes time for the system to stabilize after a total plant shutdown.
