Ugandans led by the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) are organizing for a massive demonstration at Turkish Embassy on 1st September, 2026.

According to the Patriotic League of Uganda Chairman and Chief of Defense Forces, Gen. Kainerugaba Muhoozi, this demonstration is to be coordinated by the PLU General Secretary, Rt. Hon. Twalla Fadil and Daudi Kabanda.

“Honourables @DaudiKabanda and @HonTwallafadil I want the biggest demonstration Uganda has ever seen at the Turkish embassy on the 1st of September,” writes General Muhozi on his X-Account.

Although the General does not indicate the reason for the demonstration, recent requests for the Turkish government to extradite Uganda’s Fred Lumbuye which have not been honored could be the likely cause.

A post by Kabanda seems to explain it all.

“Afande, PLU is going to shake Kampala on 1st of September, 2026. The Turks have been given enough time to produce Lumbuye but they have deliberately refused. They will now know that Uganda is a sovereign state,” writes Kabanda.

Consequently Hon. Twalla Fadil, has given an official communication informing all PLU members, supporters and patriots that the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen. Kainerugaba has instructed PLU members to demonstrate at the Turkish Embassy on 1 September 2026.

“All concerned members and PLU structures have been notified of the instruction,” says Fadil adding that further official guidance will be communicated.

Furthermore, Fadil guides that all PLU members should assemble at PLU headquarters at Plot 7 Sadler Lane, Naguru at 8:00AM on Tuesday, 1st September from where they will arch to the Turkish embassy.
