MBALE CITY
An aspirant for the Mbale City NRM Party Chairmanship has come out to trash statements attributed to the current Mbale District NRM Chairman, Muhamood Masaba.
On Friday, last week, Masaba while handing over office to John Wambogo as the interim Mbale City NRM Party Chairman said people campaigning for the office of Mbale City NRM Chair are enemies of the Party.

He particularly singled out Hajji Ismael Walujjo Mukankadi who has shown interest to contest for the office saying Walujjo is not a registered NRM Member and is not fit for the position.
Masaba also said that those campaigning for the post of Mbale City NRM Chairman like Walujjo are just masqueraders who should be arrested.
However, speaking to this reporter today, 11th July, 2022, Hajji Walujjo rubbished Masaba’s threats saying he is a fully registered NRM Party member with a Party Card No: 081071797 which was issued to him on the 29th May, 2015.
Walujjo says although he got the Party Card in 2015, he has been an active NRM Party mobiliser for the last 22 years.
Walujjo is currently a councilor representing Workers at Mbale City Council having contested as an independent because Masaba denied him the Party ticket.
Walujjo says his interest in the Mbale City NRM Chair is to create unity amongst Party members to mobilise massively so that the NRM Party wins with a bigger percentage in the City than before.
“I will continue mobilizing and meeting my electorates as I wait for Masaba Muhamood to arrest me since he has a police station at his home,” Walujjo said.
