Most residents of Namayingo have refused using borehole water arguing that it is salty and is not good for cooking. Consequently, women have had to walk long distances to fetch water from Lake Victoria encouraging domestic violence from suspecting husbands.

Relatedly, residents have fallen prey to the killer crocodiles who lay in wait at the Lake Victoria shores.

Ten people have so far lost their lives after being eaten by crocodiles as they went to fetch water at Busudya landing site this year alone.

The LC one chairman Busudya landing site, Adiru Okello said majority of the victims eaten by the crocodiles are women.

The LC 5 chairman Namayingo, Ronald Sanya said majority of residents have resorted to using water drawn from the lake shores saying the one from boreholes is salty and not fit for human consumption.

One of the residents, Florence Akello said she once drew water from Lake Victoria to boil beans but it took over five hours to get ready yet it could spend less if case the water was clean.
