A Community Development Officer of Namisindwa Town Council in Namisindwa District has been arrested for allegedly stealing 26 bags of beans.
Daniel Wepukhulu was arrested on Wednesday, 28th December after a police sniffer dog led police detectives from the crime scene direct to his home.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, unknown thugs broke into a food store of one of the businessmen operating at Lwakhakha town council and went away with 26 bags of beans on the night of Tuesday, 27th December, 2022.
He warned people against involving in such crimes which may humiliate them.
Wepukhulu is currently being detained at Lwakhakha police station waiting to appear in courts of law to answer to charges of theft.
