Three officials of Hoima City Service Commission have been arraigned before the Hoima Chief Magistrates Court by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.
The three; Amir Nsamo Chairperson and Commissioners, Bategeka Donald and Bigabwaa Ibrahim were charged today 7th June 2023 with two counts of Forgery & Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
BACKGROUND
In October 2022, Hoima City Service Commission advertised jobs and the recruitment process commenced.
After the commission had interviewed and scored over 38 applicants, the accused allegedly demanded for the candidates score sheets and unlawfully altered results in favour of 4 applicants.
Concerned citizens reported the unlawful acts of the commissioners to the State House Anti- Corruption Unit and a team was dispatched to Hoima where it was revealed that the alterations had been done in contravention of the Public Service Commission guidelines.
The three including the Principal Assistant Town Clerk, Ahamad Mugisa were consequently arrested last week on Monday by detectives from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU).
