Police has applauded a private security guard belonging to Cheetah Security who successfully foiled to robbery attempts in Kampala City on the night of Friday, 15th March, 2024.
According to SCP Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson, Odongo Moses singlehandedly while guarding his point Tonix Forex Bureau at Makonzi zone, Bukoto I Parish, in Nakawa Division fought off two attempted robberies.
Enanga says, Odongo who was brave and alert on duty fired two shots at two thugs who were vandalizing a Pajero motor vehicle under registration number, UBK 519C, in front of his beat.
The thugs who then fled the scene on their getaway motorcycle, returned with a second accomplice who was armed with an AK 47 rifle, hidden in a bag and tried to break into Tonix Forex Bureau.
Odongo opened fire at them again and injured the rider and the second suspect with a bag, containing the gun while the 3rd suspect fled from the scene.
Enanga says a police team responded swiftly and recovered an AK 47 riffle, with 8 rounds, breaking implements and the motorcycle, bajaj boxer, which were all exhibited at Kira road CPS.
“The two suspects have been identified as Kibuuka Lawrence, of Mpererwe, who was armed with a gun and Musekule Ivan, the boda boda rider,” said Enanga.
Odongo has now been recognized for disabling the thugs, which foiled the robbery, and also led to the recovery of an AK 47 rifle.
“We also want to applaud the company, for his level of bravery, tact and skill. His quick reaction saved a robbery and loss to the Forex bureau, plus any other lives that could have been affected during the robbery,” says Enanga.
