Amos Masibo, one of the prominent aspirants for the Bubulo East Parliamentary seat who lost the NRM parliamentary race to incumbent John Musila with 23500 votes has officially announced his withdrawal from the forthcoming general elections.
In a heartfelt statement delivered to his supporters, friends, and the people of Bubulo East during a meeting at Kabukwesi PAG Church on Tuesday afternoon, 21st October, 2025, Hon. Masibo said his decision came after deep reflection and with a heavy heart. He cited internal challenges that had created an environment unsuitable for a focused and peaceful campaign.
Despite stepping back from the race, Hon. Masibo reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to serve the people of Namisindwa and to promote unity and prosperity within the district. He emphasized that leadership is not only about holding positions but also about fulfilling a greater purpose through service.
Hon. Masibo further revealed that he will now dedicate his efforts to strengthening the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and pledged his full support to the Party’s Presidential Flagbearer, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, and to the NRM LCV Flagbearer for Namisindwa District, Emmah Bwayo, who has appointed him as his official agent.
He assured his supporters that his withdrawal does not mark the end of their political journey, but rather a redirection of their mission for the greater good of Bubulo East and Uganda.
LCV NRM flagbearer Bwayo Emma, who attended the meeting, commended Masibo for putting the interests of the party and the people above personal ambition. He said Masibo’s decision does not mark the end for the youthful aspirant, but rather offers him a chance to reflect and strategize for future leadership.
Khalayi Peace, the NRM Woman MP flagbearer who was also present, appreciated Masibo’s supporters for their loyalty and consistent support, urging them to continue standing with the party.
The Bubulo East race now features NRM flagbearer and incumbent Musila John, FDC’s Wesonga Daniel, NUP’s Simiyu Eid, and independent candidates Sakwa George and Cls. Walukano Jerad Ndiwa. Nominations for Members of Parliament are scheduled to begin on Wednesday and conclude on Thursday.
