Court sitting at Wakiso Chief Magistrates Court on November 17, 2025, remanded three notorious land grabbers on accusations of forcible entry, destroying crops, and theft.
The accused persons are; Ivan Mirimu (transport and clearing agent), Edward Ssempijja and Joseph Bbaale, both businessmen.
Prosecution told court, the trio and others still at large, between October 30 and November 4, 2025, at Kasanje Town Council in Wakiso District, engaged in violent acts to grab land comprising Busiro Block 514, Plots 6, 10, & 12.
The trio organized a large number of people and forcefully encroached on the land, which was occupied by Pontiano Kaweesa Ssengendo of Kamuli Industrial Estates Ltd, and unlawfully destroyed tree plantations, coffee trees, and other natural trees.
Besides that, they also stole nine motors of coffee milling machines, property of Kamuli Industrial Estates Ltd worth approximately UGX 100 million.
The trio was remanded until 03rd December when their case will come up for further hearing.
