MBALE CITY
A speeding Truck has claimed the lives of two people in Mbale City this morning, Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The incident occurred along the Mbale-Soroti road at Namunsi, Northern City Division.
According to Yahaya Were, the Northern City Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner, the trailer, registration number UBH 132J, loaded with limestone was coming from from Sironko side heading to Tororo when it knocked down a Boda Boda rider and his passenger.
The impact was fatal, and the two victims were smashed beyond recognition. Their bodies have been taken to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem, but they have not yet been identified.
He says the trailer has been impounded and taken to Mbale Central police station as investigations continue.
Were warned road users to use the roads well as they head to the festival season adding that the cause of the accident has not yet been identified.
