The suspect was identified as Robert Okwoput, a resident of Kaleu village, Kaleu parish in Kangole Sub County in Bukedea District.
Okwoput was netted red handed on Saturday night, 8th June, 2024 by the area local council one chairman with the support of the area GISO.
Mr. Robert Iputo, Kaleu local council one chairman confirmed the arrest saying the suspect locked himself inside the house with granddaughter and was found naked.
“It’s not the first time for Okwoput to do such acts in the community, and even the granddaughter he has defiled has a mental problem”, said Mr. Iputo.
Mr. Sam Emong, area GISO told this publication that Okwoput’s arrest was a joint effort from the community, community leaders and sub county security.
“I was informed about him and the report was made to my office by some community members. We launched our investigations until we netted him red handed on Saturday,” said Mr. Emong.

However, Mr. Michael Ocan, the Kangole sub county chairperson early this morning Monday 10th, June 2024 when reached on phone for a comment condemned Okwoput’s acts saying it’s not his first time to be arrested over the same.
“It’s not the first time this person has been arrested, I remember some time back, he was again arrested over the same case”, said Mr. Ocan.
