Mbale Heroes Management Dismisses Allegations of Financial Crisis in Club

Mbale Heroes Football Club has refuted allegations of facing a major financial crisis ahead of their upcoming home fixture.

Only 12 players reportedly made the trip to Mityana to play against Ntugasaze FC last weekend without club officials, where logistical challenges added to their woes; the team bus allegedly ran out of fuel on the return journey.

Since then, there have been no training sessions, with several players said to be frustrated over unpaid allowances and poor travel arrangements.

According to anonymous sources within the team, some players are now threatening to boycott Sunday’s home game against Solitilo Bright Stars unless urgent issues are addressed by club management.

However, club chief executive Officer, Bosco Wamududa on Thursday 13th November, 2025 refuted the allegations, dismissing them as false information.

He says they are spread by individuals who wish to tarnish the name of the club saying they are enemies of the club.

“It’s not true that we ran out of fuel several times. We had planned to refuel at Kama Petrol Station in Jinja, but there was a delay because the club president’s phone was unreachable at the time. The issue was later handled,” Wamududa explained.

He further clarified that the reduced number of players was due to licensing and injury issues, not a protest.

“We had 14 players, not 12 as claimed. Some players like to exaggerate issues to win sympathy from fans,” the CEO added.

Despite the denial, uncertainty continues to surround the team’s preparation for their next fixture, with insiders hinting that morale remains low in the camp.
