A shocking discovery in an unfinished house has sent ripples of fear and outrage through the community of Amagoro A North in Tororo Municipality.
Residents were left reeling on Thursday 26 February 2026, after a small red coffin, accompanied by mysterious bottles filled with charms, a white handkerchief, and various herbs, was uncovered in the property belonging to a local, Mubarak Waibi.
The unsettling find has ignited a firestorm of allegations, with many community members pointing fingers at Ronald Okello, known locally as Asib.
Okello is embroiled in a long-standing land dispute with Waibi, and the discovery has raised eyebrows, leading residents to question his involvement.
Area LC1 Chairman, Omadede Okware condemned the incident, labeling it a primitive act that threatens the harmony of the village.
“Such practices have no place in our community,” he stated firmly, vowing to banish anyone found responsible from Amagoro A North. “We must ensure the safety and well-being of all our residents.”
Amid the growing panic, locals have expressed their anger and concern for the neighborhood’s safety.
Many residents are calling for Okello’s immediate eviction, believing he poses a significant threat.
“We cannot allow someone who would engage in such dark practices to remain in our midst,” declared one irate resident, Faith Nyadoi. “If he is not removed, we will take matters into our own hands.”
As tensions mount, the accused neighbor was unavailable for comment by press time.
The investigation continues as fears grow that the unearthing of the coffin and its contents may signal deeper issues within the village.
