SOROTI CITY
The Vice President, H.E Jessica Alupo has reorganized the NRM team canvassing votes for NRM’s Edmund Herbert Ariko for the forthcoming Soroti City East MP Bye-election.
In the reorganized team, Hon. Sanjay Tanna has been deployed in the Central Ward Team headed by General J.J Odongo.
Information reaching this website is that the reorganization that was effected yesterday, 23rd July, 2022 was prompted by the fact that Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party candidate was leading in the polls carried out by political pollsters.
Tanna is well known for his mobilization prowess having contested for and narrowly losing the NRM regional Vice Chairmanship to Capt. Mike Mukula.
He was also coopted to mobilize votes for President Museveni in the Bukedi sub region in the last general elections.
Tanna runs several businesses in Eastern Uganda employing thousands of people. Some of the businesses are MTN distributor, Nile Breweries Distributor and Tbs radio in Soroti City having a listenership in the whole Teso sub region.
The Soroti City East Bye-election is scheduled for 28th July, 2022 with the race that many have described as ‘too close to call’ being a two horse race between FDC’s Moses Okia Attan and NRM’s Ariko.
