Mbale City Council Starts Renovating Mbale Municipal Stadium

Mbale city has today, 13th December, 2022 officially started renovation works in Mbale municipal stadium as a way of improving sports in Bugisu and the eastern region at large.

 

This was revealed by Kasim Namugali, the Mbale City Mayor while speaking to our reporter this morning at his office in an exclusive interview.

 

According to Namugali, a team of engineers from Kampala is already at Mbale Municipal Stadium to carry out Bills of Quantities and assess the work.

 

“We want to do repairs on pavilions, reconnect electricity, fix the water systems, dressing rooms, and latrines among others,” the Mbale City Mayor says.

 

Namugali says that they expect to use over 300 million shillings to be fundraised from donors and Bugisu prominent leaders.

 

The mayor urged the public to embrace the development saying it will promote talents of youths and tourism in Bugisu.

 

James Kutosi, the Public Relation Officer of Mbale city says that they expect tourism to increase from 10% to 30% if this stadium is renovated.
