National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) has arrested a one Abubaker, a notorious serial wetland degrader red-handed degrading Lungujja wetland.
Abubaker found in the act of degrading the Lungujja wetland was arrested on Wednesday, 10th January, 2024 and detained at Jinja Road Police Station pending court proceedings today, Thursday, 11th Jan.
NEMA says, Abubaker has been on their Most Wanted List of wetland degraders.
Abubaker’s caterpillar tractor was towed to the Ministry of Water & Environment. Meanwhile the owner of the site that was being degraded is still at large.
