Police in Entebbe is investigating a tragic fire outbreak that claimed the lives of three juvenile females in Mpala Cell, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District, in the early hours of 15th August 2025.
The deceased have been identified as, Namiru Ellah 12, Amani Namulema 5 and Namujju Tamale, 3 years old.
ASP Luke Owoyesigire the deputy police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan area says the mother of the victims, Nalubwama Julie, had left them unattended to, while the father, Kavuma Lenon, was away in Jinja for work.
“The fire, which broke out at about 1:00 am, was reported to Police by the local LC1 Chairperson. The Fire and Rescue Services responded promptly and extinguished the blaze. Two bodies were recovered outside the burnt house, while the third was found inside, burnt beyond recognition.” Said ASP Owoyesigire.
By press time, the bodies had been conveyed to the City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examination as investigations continue.
