Details Emerge On Death of 2nd Yr Makerere University Student, Amongin

A postmortem report carried out on the body of Amongin Francisca, a 2nd year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science with Education (Mathematics and Economics) has revealed disturbing details.

 

Amongin was found unresponsive in her room near Full Gospel Church on the morning of Saturday, 9th May, 2026.

 

According to a statement issued today, Monday, May 11, 2026, by the Minister for Student Affairs, Owen Nasasira, the postmortem report confirms the cause of death as carbon monoxide poisoning.

 

The report indicates that Amongin died of suffocation caused by oxygen deprivation and inhalation of harmful gases specifically carbon monoxide poisoning.

 

The incident was caused by leaving a stove on in a poorly ventilated room with her door and windows closed.

 

Amongin will be laid to rest at her ancestral home in Aninolal village, Inomo Sub County in Kwania District on Tuesday, 12th May, 2026.
