Parliament is convening the 2nd Sitting of the 1st Meeting of the 1st Session of 12th Parliament to consider the approval of the appointment of the Vice President and Prime Minister, among others.
According to the Order Paper issued today, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the House will convene on Thursday, 28 May 2026, at 2pm to vet H.E Jessica Alupo and Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja for the positions of Vice President and Prime Minister respectively.
The same Session shall also see the designation of members to Standing Committees in accordance with Rule 165 of the Rules of Procedure.
H.E Jessica Alupo and Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja are among the few Presidential appointees that retained their positions in the Cabinet released on Tuesday, 26th May, 2026.
