Sironko District to Renovate Only One Primary School in FY 2023/24

Sironko district has only managed to put aside funds to renovate one Primary school this Financial Year among many that are in dire need of face uplift.

 

The lucky school is Buhugu primary school located at Buhugu Sub County.

 

This was revealed by David Livingston Giluli, the Sironko district LCV chairperson, while speaking to our reporter on Friday during an exclusive interview at his office.

 

Giluli revealed that the district has set aside Shs56million to carry out renovation works at the school like re-roofing, painting and other repairs on three classrooms which were constructed by colonialists 70 years back.

 

According to Giluli, Buhugu is just one of the many primary schools in the district which is in bad condition.

 

Andrew Wasukira, the Sironko district acting engineer says that works are going to start this week and that the construction contract has been awarded to Gisa investment limited. The Works are expected to be completed in three months time.

 

He urged the public to embrace the development such that the face of the school can be changed.

Fesito Manyifu the director of Gisa investment limited promised to do quality works worthy the money.

 

Meanwhile, Isaiah Sasaga Wanzira, Member of Parliament representing Budadiri east constituency has asked the district to consider other schools like Nabodi primary school located at Zesui Sub County, Bumasifwa primary school located at Bumasifwa Sub County among others after Buhugu.
